Oral Mucositis

Oral Mucositis, a debilitating side effect of cancer therapy, is finally being addressed through preventative biophotonics. In 2026, patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy are prescribed "Light-Emitting Mouthguards" that deliver low-level laser therapy (LLLT) to the oral mucosa. This treatment stimulates cellular repair and reduces oxidative stress before the ulcers can form. Some of these gels are now "bio-active," containing growth factors that actively signal the mucosal lining to regenerate.
